Katie Mayo, the managing paralegal, has her B.A. in Criminal Justice and History from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and her Master’s Degree from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. She has owned and operated several highly successful businesses in the region. Before going into the law, she successfully ran a business as a professional horse trainer, owned investment properties, and served as a licensed mental health counselor and advocate for underprivileged youth facing substance abuse issues.

As the managing paralegal for The Mayo Law Group PLLC, Katie exceeds client expectations through prompt communication and management of all litigation and transactional matters. She is the point person for our unfair and deceptive business practices and landlord-tenant practice areas. In this regard, Katie oversees The Mayo Law Group PLLC’s entire unlawful detainer docket for our property management and owner clients (more than 10,000 commercial and residential units in the region).

Katie’s dual expertise as a business owner (of investment properties) and legal knowledge make her uniquely capable of assisting our real estate and landlord clients. She offers guidance in the form of educating property managers on appropriate forms, lease agreements, notices, and various eviction matters. She has honed her expertise in preparing all appropriate pleadings necessary for landlords to successfully prosecute unlawful detainers and obtain judgments and writs of restitution for delivery and execution by the Sheriff’s Department.
